
Professor Francisca Ferrando holds a PhD in Law and is a Professor at the University of Murcia (UM), specialising in research and teaching in Labour Law and Social Security. She is a researcher at the Chairs of Social Economy, Labour Relations, and Identity and Digital Rights at UM.
Since 2017, she has served as Director of the Social Action Platform at UM and is a member of the Platform for Economic Democracy (PxDE). Additionally, she is a member of the editorial board of Net21.org, a working group focused on developing a New Statute for Workers in the 21st Century.
She is the Editor-in-Chief of the journals Anales del Derecho and iQual at UM. Since 2008, she has acted as an arbitrator in trade union elections for the appointment of employee representatives within companies. In 2022, she was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Law at UM.
Professor Ferrando has participated in numerous regional, national, and international research projects and has supervised six doctoral theses. She has published approximately 200 academic works, with her principal areas of research including labour flexibility measures, dismissal, trade union law and collective labour relations, workplace equality and non-discrimination, social economy, social security benefits, and labour litigation.
